I do not think that tuning is the issue at hand. When a certain vendor/or vendors delve into areas out of their expertise...i.e. mod engines, blowers, re-builds, headwork/cams, etc. then I say it's buyer beware. As long as I have been in the automotive business (44 years) there has always been a substantial percentage of individuals in this industry that work on referals/kickbacks and they put in real effort to guide you to their cash cow. One would be amazed how many autos and big rigs (my arena) get their engines, trans and axles rebuilt when not needed. Let the cash flow!

I bought my blower from shawn and he pulled the same shit. jacked up the price 200 bucks and the box was opened but it was a brand spanking new blower and in the end I still probably saved a few hundered dollars. It does suck a bit when they jack the price last minute but to get a used blower for practically retail straight blows!!

All I gotta say is I went from danny to shawn and back to danny. Shawn never burned me or ripped me off but he was very difficut to reach and danny is always at the phone when I call. I think shawn needs to hire a guy to handle appointments land phone work like danny did so he can just tune. I also think danny does better with drivability while shawn concentrates on a/f and timing. He will run the car 5-7 times tweaking it even after the a/f looks good to make the lines perfect. He is also a bit conservative with his tune which is smart. This is a daily driver not a track only car. He will get the car to ping a but and then pull 2 deg just in case you get a batch of bad gas or floor your car in 4th uphill on a hot day while the water temp is 200 deg.

As for blowing up cars, all I gotta say is carpe diem. screwing with stock parameters is always risky. adding 50% more hp to a car witha returnless system and a bap (i own and think its horrible) sucks. My car falls flat on its face between shifts unless I power shift because the bap and computer fight when the pressure spikes. Have you guys heard of the new aeromotive returnless fuel system? looks sweet!!!

Ive had great luck with Shawn, Ill admit my tune is right on the edge, but as long as the fuel pump lives and I use 100 octane religously I should be ok..its been fine for over 1.5 years now...DA snake boy!!!

hmm. only time i dealt with shawn was when my girlfriend bought my diablosport chip for me, way before the predator was ever released (otherwise i would have paid the difference and bought it). he was polite, his wife showed me their horses, and i got what i came for without any problems.

sad to hear about bad experiences with any tuner, but they do happen unfortunately.

heh, i'm STILL waiting for my tri-ax shifter i won in his site's contest from last year.

Shawn has tuned my car several times, and the results were good. All the dealings have been fair, including a day when things didn't work out so there was no charge. I initially went to him for a Predator custom tune when my ECU would not hold a chip well enough to run consistantly.

Sorry to hear about the problems you guys experienced. Hell, Shawn drove up here (55 miles each way) from down south one night to try to help solve my PATS 'theft' problem. Each person knows what he or she experienced, and this forum was created precisely so there would be a place to air stuff out.

dgussini -- glad to see that there has been no flaming as a result of you sharing your experience.

The last time we spoke you mentioned you would be at the car wash and would get it from me then but you didn't show. It is still here.

It is always the tuners fault. always......
